How to refinish your hardwood staircase
As the name suggests, ‘hardwood’, has been known to withstand the ravages of time and have given your place an unmatched look. But, again, with regular and much use it needs to be repaired and maintained with the passage of time.
The most common problem we come across is the wearing away of the edges of the stairs. However, covering your stairs with a carpet would keep it from wearing easily. Wood stairs require polish and needs to be redone once in 10 years. Some parts of the stairs might get rough with time, so, using sand paper would be a good option to make it even. To cover up the gaps, edges and creases you can paint it with a polyurethane finish. You should also check for nails or screws coming out from corners or else you might get badly hurt. Last but not the least you can go for a different color while re-painting it.
